Disney Files Permits for Maintenance Work Across Multiple Buildings at Art of Animation Resort
It looks like Disney is giving one of its most colorful resorts a little behind-the-scenes refresh. Six new permits have been filed for Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, targeting several guest buildings across the sprawling, animation-inspired property. While nothing flashy is being announced just yet, these updates are all about keeping the magic running smoothly, even if it is happening quietly backstage.

The permits, filed on March 20, 2026, cover a mix of fan-favorite themed areas including Cars, Finding Nemo, and The Lion King. Specifically, work is slated for buildings at 1650, 1700, and 1750 Animation Way in the Cars section, along with 1800 and 1900 Animation Way in the Finding Nemo area, and 1950 Animation Way in The Lion King section. If you have ever stayed in Radiator Springs or taken a stroll through Pride Rock, chances are you have passed right by these buildings.
The listed contractor, Ferran Services & Contracting Inc., has been approved to carry out “mechanical work,” which typically points to maintenance involving systems like HVAC, plumbing, or other essential infrastructure. The permits are assigned to Disney’s Facility Asset Management team, reinforcing that this is routine upkeep rather than a major refurbishment or reimagining.

For guests, this likely means minimal impact, if any, during their stay. Disney is known for keeping these types of projects as seamless as possible, so your morning coffee with Lightning McQueen or your late-night stroll past Simba should remain uninterrupted.
