Encanto Queue Construction Moves Front and Center at Animal Kingdom
The magic is inching closer to guest level at Disney’s Animal Kingdom as new aerial photos reveal construction crews shifting their focus to the future queue area of the Encanto attraction. With the main show building steel framework now largely in place, the action has moved to the front of the structure where guests will eventually begin their journey inside Casita.

Recent images from X user @bioreconstruct show steel beams staged and being installed in what will become both the standby and Lightning Lane entrances. It is a subtle shift, but an important one. When queue structures start rising, it means we are moving from backstage box to guest facing experience. This is the space where the story begins to unfold before you ever board a ride vehicle.
Inside, guests will join the Madrigal family on the day Antonio receives his magical gift, the ability to communicate with animals, inspired by Disney’s Encanto. The attraction takes place within the walls of Casita, the enchanted home that practically dances with personality in the film. Given Animal Kingdom’s emphasis on wildlife and conservation storytelling, Antonio’s connection to animals feels like the emotional bridge tying this experience into the park’s broader theme.

The Encanto ride anchors the 11 acre Tropical Americas expansion, which will also feature a new Indiana Jones adventure and an animal themed carousel, all centered around Pueblo Esperanza, a vibrant Latin American inspired village complete with an open air market and a large quick service restaurant. With an opening slated for 2027, the bones are clearly in place and now the guest spaces are beginning to take shape.
For those of us who track every beam and bulldozer, this is the phase where imagination starts turning into reality. The steel may look simple now, but it is the framework for a story that will soon welcome families into the Madrigal home.
