“After directing wildlife shows all over the world for the past 30 years, I can honestly say orangutans are my absolute favorite animal!” says Director Mark Linfield. “They’re gentle, funny, smart, and always surprising. Josh Gad’s narration has really captured their spirit, and our camera team managed to film a whole new side of their lives that viewers haven’t seen before. I can’t wait for people to watch this one.”

Disneynature’s “Orangutan” transports viewers high into the majestic rainforest canopies of Southeast Asia, home to a mysterious and playful community of great apes. Directed by Mark Linfield and co-directed by Vanessa Berlowitz, the film is produced by Linfield, Berlowitz, and Roy Conli, featuring an original score by Nitin Sawhney.
Packed with exhilarating action and heartwarming encounters, this stunning look at life in the jungle debuts exclusively on Disney+ this Earth Day, April 22, 2026.
