SZA Is Entering Her Pixar Era with New Single “Save The Day”
We are inching closer to the release of Disney and Pixar’s newest adventure, Hoppers, and the soundtrack is already off to a star-studded start. SZA has officially released her all-new original single, “Save The Day,” giving us a soulful first taste of the movie’s heart and message.

For Director Daniel Chong (We Bare Bears), landing SZA for the soundtrack was more than just a collaboration—it was a dream come true. Chong shared that SZA’s music was a “lifeline” during the stress of production.
“When we first heard the song, some of us cried; SZA perfectly captured the heart of our main character, Mabel,” said Chong. “‘Save The Day’ is not just an emotional journey… but an anthem for a whole generation just looking for some runway to change the world.”
The track features lyrics by SZA with music by SZA, Ben Lovett, and Rob Bisel. If you want a head start on the vibes, you can catch an on-air first listen on SiriusXM’s Disney Hits (Channel 133)!
The film’s score is helmed by the legendary Mark Mothersbaugh, who Chong describes as a “creative force.” Mothersbaugh, known for his work with Devo and his iconic film scores, felt a deep connection to the film’s message.
“I like the message and, in a way, it’s kind of a Devo message,” Mothersbaugh noted. “I think everyone will look at this film and they’ll relate. It’s positive information for people to think about.”
For the collectors out there, Disney Music Emporium has launched a stunning exclusive die-cut vinyl of “Save The Day.” The record is shaped exactly like the film’s lead character, Mabel, and is available for pre-order now. This is definitely going to be a centerpiece for any Pixar collection!
The full Hoppers soundtrack—featuring SZA’s single and Mothersbaugh’s score—will drop the same day the film hits theaters.
