Cinderella Castle Repainting Impacts Magic Kingdom Show Times

As a fresh coat of paint begins to transform Cinderella Castle at Magic Kingdom, Disney has updated the performance schedule for Mickey’s Magical Friendship Faire. To accommodate the ongoing refurbishment work, showtimes have been adjusted to ensure the magic continues while the castle receives its latest glow-up.

Beginning January 28, 2026, Mickey’s Magical Friendship Faire will transition to a modified afternoon-only schedule. The show will scale back to four daily performances to allow for construction work on the castle.

New Schedule (Starting Jan. 28):

  • 1:00 PM
  • 2:05 PM
  • 4:00 PM
  • 5:15 PM

Through January 27, guests can still catch the production five times a day, including two morning slots.

Current Schedule (Until Jan. 27):

  • 10:05 AM
  • 11:05 AM
  • 12:40 PM
  • 1:55 PM
  • 4:00 PM

These scheduling shifts are designed to facilitate the ongoing transformation of Cinderella Castle. Disney recently revealed that the landmark is being repainted with a nostalgic color palette inspired by its original 1971 debut look.

To facilitate the detailed painting process, maintenance crews will drain the castle moat and utilize heavy machinery to reach the higher spires. In an effort to preserve the park’s iconic atmosphere, Disney aims to have all cranes lowered and tucked away from sight by noon each day, ensuring your afternoon castle photos remain “picture perfect.”

In addition to the stage show changes, Disney confirmed that the “Let the Magic Begin” welcome show will operate in a modified format while the castle project is underway. Fans of “Happily Ever After” will be glad to know that the nighttime spectacular will continue as scheduled, with only minor adjustments expected to accommodate the construction equipment.

Currently, there is no official end date for these entertainment changes; they are expected to remain in effect as long as exterior work on the castle continues.

Are you looking forward to seeing the new, refreshed castle?
