Florida Man Arrested After Allegedly Shooting at Uber Driver Following Disney World Pickup

A disturbing incident near Walt Disney World has led to multiple felony charges after authorities say a Kissimmee man opened fire on an Uber driver following a pickup from a Disney World staff parking lot. According to an affidavit from the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office, 21 year old Alexis Encarnacion Rosado requested an Uber ride just before 9:30 PM on January 1 and was picked up from the employee parking area. It remains unclear whether he was ever a Disney Cast Member.

Investigators say the ride took a turn when Encarnacion Rosado asked to stop at a Denny’s along the way. The driver agreed and reportedly waited 20 to 30 minutes while Encarnacion Rosado got food. After continuing the trip, the driver suggested a larger tip due to the extended wait. That suggestion allegedly sparked an angry outburst, with the suspect cursing at the driver and spitting in his face. The driver then suspended the trip and Encarnacion Rosado exited the vehicle.

As the driver pulled away, police say Encarnacion Rosado reached into a backpack and fired seven shots at the fleeing car. Authorities later recovered seven .40 caliber shell casings and documented seven bullet holes in the vehicle. The suspect fled the area on foot and hid behind nearby homes while the driver contacted police. Encarnacion Rosado, who was already on probation in Polk County, was later arrested and charged with shooting into an occupied vehicle, discharging a firearm in public, possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, battery, and criminal mischief.
