Cast Members Leave Their Mark as Encanto Attraction Takes Shape at Disney’s Animal Kingdom
Construction on the upcoming Encanto attraction at Disney’s Animal Kingdom just hit a heartfelt milestone. Cast Members recently signed a steel beam that will become a permanent part of the new attraction being built as part of the Tropical Americas expansion. Walt Disney World Resort President Jeff Vahle shared photos of the moment, calling it a highlight of his day and noting how meaningful it was to hear Cast Members talk about what excites them most as this new land comes to life.

According to Vahle, the signed beam will be incorporated directly into the Encanto attraction, making Cast Members part of the story in a very literal way. Interior construction on the attraction has now begun, signaling visible progress as the former DinoLand U.S.A. area continues its transformation. Runners participating in recent events even got close-up looks at the construction site, offering a glimpse of just how much change is underway.

The Encanto attraction is one of the marquee elements of the Tropical Americas project, which replaces DinoLand U.S.A., an area Disney leadership previously described as underutilized. With steel going up, signatures locked in, and construction moving indoors, this project is clearly shifting from concept to reality. If this signed beam is any indication, the magic behind the scenes is just as strong as what guests will eventually see onstage.
