Shakira Unleashes “Zoo,” the Wild New Anthem for Disney’s “Zootopia 2”
The animal metropolis of Zootopia is already buzzing with its biggest star back in the recording booth! Walt Disney Animation Studios has officially released “Zoo,” the all-new original song featured in the highly anticipated animated adventure, Zootopia 2.
The electrifying new single is performed by Shakira, who not only lends her vocals to the track but also returns to voice Zootopia’s biggest pop sensation, Gazelle, a role she originated in the 2016 Oscar®-winning film.

A Star-Studded Collaboration
“Zoo” brings together a powerhouse trio of songwriters: the music and lyrics were written by Ed Sheeran, Blake Slatkin, and Shakira herself. The song was then produced by a stellar team consisting of Blake Slatkin, Alex (A.C.) Castillo, Shakira, and Ed Sheeran.
The track is already poised to become a new fan favorite, echoing the success of the original film’s breakout anthem, “Try Everything,” which has garnered an astounding 2.7 billion streams worldwide to date. For collectors and dedicated fans, “Zoo” will also be available as a collectible 7-inch purple vinyl single.

The Sound of Zootopia
“Zoo” offers the first major taste of the music accompanying the new adventure. The full Zootopia 2 score, composed by Academy Award®-winner Michael Giacchino (who also scored the original film), will be available as part of the complete soundtrack launching on Friday, November 21.
The film itself hits theaters shortly after on Wednesday, November 26.
The Mystery Heats Up
In Zootopia 2, the celebrated rookie cops, Judy Hopps (voiced by Ginnifer Goodwin) and Nick Wilde (voiced by Jason Bateman), are drawn into a twisting, high-stakes mystery. The city is turned upside down by the arrival of the mysterious Gary De’Snake (voiced by Ke Huy Quan).
To crack the case, Judy and Nick must venture undercover into unexpected new parts of town, where their growing partnership will be tested like never before.
The ensemble voice cast features a mix of returning favorites and exciting newcomers, including Fortune Feimster, Andy Samberg, Idris Elba, Patrick Warburton, and Quinta Brunson, alongside the returning Ginnifer Goodwin, Jason Bateman, Nate Torrence, and Shakira.
Zootopia 2 is directed by the Oscar®-winning team of Disney Animation chief creative officer Jared Bush and Byron Howard, and produced by Yvett Merino. The animated adventure promises to be a wild, thrilling, and musical ride when it opens in theaters on November 26.
