Something’s brewing in the World Showcase at EPCOT! Guests strolling between the vibrant Mexico Pavilion and the charming Norway Pavilion are now met with an unexpected sight: construction walls. These temporary barriers have sprung up along the pathway that connects the two lands, sparking curiosity and a bit of speculation among Disney fans.

The walls begin their stretch right next to the popular Donald Duck meet-and-greet location. Adding to the intrigue, green scrim effectively blocks any clear view of the area where the walls meet the existing stone structure. This makes it nearly impossible for passersby to get a peek at what might be happening behind the scenes.

The construction zone curves around the planters and the small seating area that usually offers a place for guests to rest and soak in the World Showcase ambiance. Interestingly, the familiar tall speaker posts remain visible behind the walls, indicating that the sound system for the area is still in place. The walls eventually conclude with more green scrim near the entrance to Anna and Elsa’s Royal Sommerhus in the Norway Pavilion.

As of now, Disney has remained tight-lipped, offering no official announcement regarding the purpose of this construction. This lack of information has naturally led to a flurry of guesses among parkgoers. Could it be related to further enhancements in the area, perhaps following the recent themed pavement work around the Mexico Pavilion? Or maybe it’s connected to the refurbishment that the Gran Fiesta Tour Starring the Three Caballeros underwent earlier this year, which saw refreshed scenes and lighting?
Adding a touch of Disney magic to the otherwise utilitarian construction walls are PPG Paints-branded signs. These cheerful additions feature beloved Disney characters alongside inspiring quotes, a small but welcome detail that adds a bit of color and charm to the temporary disruption.

For now, the mysterious walls between Mexico and Norway serve as a visual puzzle for EPCOT visitors. As Disney keeps the details under wraps, guests will undoubtedly be keeping a close eye on this corner of the World Showcase, eager to uncover what exciting changes or additions might be on the horizon. Stay tuned for updates as more information becomes available!
