Half of DinoLand U.S.A., including TriceraTop Spin, Chester & Hester’s Dino-Rama, and the Fossil Fun Games, has officially closed its doors. These closures pave the way for the much-anticipated transformation of the land into Tropical Americas, a vibrant new area that promises to bring fresh excitement to Disney’s Animal Kingdom. While the refurbishment begins, the other half of DinoLand, including the iconic DINOSAUR attraction and Restaurantosaurus, is expected to remain open through the end of 2025.

Tropical Americas is set to debut in 2027, which will bring attractions to the park themed after both Indiana Jones and Encanto. The expansion will see the overhaul of DINOSAUR into an Indiana Jones Themed Ride. The DINOSAUR ride at Animal Kingdom contains the same ride system as the Indiana Jones ride in Disneyland.
