Living with the Land Restores Key Effects in Rainforest and Desert Scenes

EPCOT’s beloved Living with the Land attraction continues to receive some much-appreciated care and maintenance, with the restoration of two key effects that enhance the storytelling experience. Guests riding through the serene rainforest scene can once again enjoy the waterfall effect, which had been missing for over four months. The cascading water, flowing through tree roots and accompanied by an additional stream below, perfectly complements the narration about how trees and plants gather nutrients from groundwater, bringing the scene back to life in its full glory.

That’s not all! The warm air effect in the desert scene has also returned after being out of operation for several months. As guests transition from the cool rainforest to the dry desert, a vent in the tunnel now blows warm air, providing a subtle yet immersive reminder of the dramatic environmental shift. This small but impactful detail adds to the charm and educational value of the ride.

These latest updates follow a series of improvements made to Living with the Land earlier this year. In June 2024, the brush fire scene and lightning effects behind the buffalo were restored after a lengthy period of inactivity. Back in April, the rainforest scene’s lighting was refreshed, further enhancing its ambiance.

It’s clear that Disney has been prioritizing maintenance and updates for this classic EPCOT attraction, ensuring that it continues to delight guests while highlighting the importance of sustainability and environmental stewardship. With its thoughtful storytelling and gentle ride experience, Living with the Land remains a fan favorite—and it’s wonderful to see it being given the attention it deserves.

Be sure to check out these restored effects on your next visit to EPCOT and experience the magic of Living with the Land in all its revitalized splendor!
