Disney Cruise Line Is Set to Expand Fleet with FOUR New Ships

Disney Cruise Line is charting an exciting course for the future, with major fleet expansion plans announced at D23: The Ultimate Fan Event. Josh D’Amaro, Chairman of Disney Experiences, unveiled the ambitious plan to add four new ships to Disney Cruise Line’s already award-winning fleet. These ships, set to be delivered between 2027 and 2031, will bring the total fleet size to an impressive 13 ships.

While the specific names, designs, and itineraries for these new ships are still under wraps, the announcement underscores Disney Cruise Line’s commitment to creating unparalleled family vacation experiences at sea. With each ship, Disney blends its signature service, storytelling, and innovation, making Disney Cruise Line a standout in the industry. Thomas Mazloum, president of the New Experiences Portfolio and Disney Signature Experiences, highlighted this, noting that the expanding fleet will further solidify Disney Cruise Line’s position as a leader in family cruising.

The expansion news comes on the heels of several other exciting developments for Disney Cruise Line. In July, Disney announced a partnership with Oriental Land Co., Ltd. (OLC) that will bring year-round Disney cruise vacations to Japan, slated to begin by early 2029. This move marks Disney’s continued efforts to bring their magical experiences to even more parts of the world.

Attendees at D23 were also treated to a first look at the upcoming stage show “Disney The Tale of Moana,” set to premiere on the Disney Treasure later this year. This show will bring Moana’s unforgettable journey to life, including her epic battle with Te Kā, depicted by an incredible fifteen-foot-tall puppet — the largest ever produced for a Disney Cruise Line show.
