Florida theme parks, including Walt Disney World and Universal Orlando, are required to submit reports detailing incidents where guests seek outside medical attention. The latest MOU Exempt Facilities Report, covering April to June 2024, reveals several noteworthy incidents at Disney World and Universal Orlando.

Disney World Incidents:

  • 4/21/24: At Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin, a 60-year-old male with a pre-existing condition experienced chest pain after exiting the attraction.
  • 5/3/24: A 76-year-old male felt faint after riding Tron Lightcycle Run.
  • 5/6/24: A 39-year-old female with pre-existing conditions felt disoriented after exiting Space Mountain.
  • 5/11/24: A 25-year-old female lost consciousness and hit her head while riding Humunga Kowabunga.
  • 6/5/24: A 42-year-old female with a pre-existing condition reported back pain after exiting Frozen Ever After.
  • 6/10/24: A 69-year-old male with a pre-existing condition felt dizzy after exiting Minnie & Mickey’s Runaway Railway.

Universal Orlando Incidents:

  • 5/5/24: A 64-year-old female experienced dizziness on the Hogwarts Express.
  • 5/22/24: A 78-year-old male suffered dizziness and loss of consciousness after riding Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey.
  • 6/3/24: A 70-year-old male reported chest pressure after riding TeAwa The Fearless River.
  • 6/3/24: A 23-year-old female lost consciousness on Honu ika Moana.
  • 6/18/24: An 8-year-old male experienced leg pain at Runamukka Reef.

First Aid Locations in Disney World:

Each of Disney World’s parks is equipped with first aid stations where guests can receive immediate medical attention. First aid centers are staffed with Registered Nurses and Professional Paramedics during normal operating hours.

  • Magic Kingdom: Located between The Crystal Palace and Casey’s Corner.
  • Epcot: Positioned in World Celebration next to the Odyssey Pavilion, before the Mexico pavilion.
  • Hollywood Studios: Near the main entrance, to the left of the Crossroads of the World.
  • Animal Kingdom: Situated in Discovery Island, next to Creature Comforts.
  • Blizzard Beach: Found between the Beach Haus and Lottawatta Lodge.
  • Typhoon Lagoon: Located next to Leaning Palms and across from Happy Landings.

Disney World Resort hotels do not have dedicated First Aid stations, but in-room medical services are available 24/7 by tapping the “Front Desk” button on the in-room phone.

First Aid Locations in Universal Orlando:

Universal Orlando also ensures guest safety with first aid services available at all three of its parks.

  • Universal Studios Florida: The main Health Services Station is on Canal Street, between the New York and San Francisco Street Sets, with an additional station at Family Services near the Studio Audience Center.
  • Islands of Adventure: The main Health Services station is located in Sindbad’s Village within The Lost Continent, with another station inside the Guest Services Lobby.
  • Volcano Bay: The First Aid Station is near the park entrance, staffed with registered nurses and professional paramedics.
