Disney CEO Bob Iger and Wife Willow Bay Set to Become Majority Owners of Angel City FC
Disney CEO Bob Iger and his wife, Willow Bay, are poised to make a significant investment in the women’s professional soccer team Angel City FC. This deal, reportedly worth over $50 million, would make the couple the team’s controlling shareholders, potentially valuing the franchise at $300 million, a record for women’s professional sports.

This investment from the Bay Iger Co., a separate entity from their primary roles at Disney and USC Annenberg School, would transfer control of the team from Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian. While the transaction is not officially confirmed, multiple sources indicate the deal is in the final stages.
Angel City FC, co-founded by actor Natalie Portman, boasts a roster of notable investors including Serena Williams, Billie Jean King, and former US national team members. The team plays at BMO Stadium, shared with Major League Soccer’s LAFC.
This acquisition marks a notable move for Iger and Bay into the world of professional sports ownership, and with their leadership, the future looks bright for Angel City FC.
