Marvel Actor Jonathan Majors avoids jail time in domestic violence case
Actor Jonathan Majors, facing domestic violence charges, has been sentenced to a 52-week batterers intervention program in Los Angeles according to ABC News. Judge Michael Gaffey did not impose jail time, despite the maximum sentence of 364 days. Majors must also continue mental health counseling and abide by an order of protection barring contact with his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari.
The Manhattan District Attorney’s office declined to seek jail time, instead advocating for domestic violence programming. Prosecutor Kelli Galaway emphasized that Majors “has still refused to accept any responsibility for his actions.”

In a victim impact statement, Jabbari described ongoing physical and emotional pain following the assault, calling Majors “a danger to others.” She expressed fear that he “will abuse other women.”
Prior to sentencing, Majors, accompanied by his current girlfriend, actress Meagan Good, read from the Bible. His lawyer, Priya Chaudhry, declined to have him speak due to Jabbari’s pending civil lawsuit. She expressed hope that Majors will soon return to his acting career.
Majors was convicted of misdemeanor assault and harassment in December 2023, but acquitted of more serious charges. The jury concluded that he acted recklessly but not intentionally during the March 2023 altercation.
