Halloween Horror Nights has kicked off at Universal Studios Hollywood
Universal Studios Hollywood plunged into the heart of darkness on September 8, 2023, ushering in the spine-tingling grand opening of Halloween Horror Nights. Eight horrifying haunted houses, three eerie scare zones, two electrifying live experiences, and the ever-popular Terror Tram await guests who are brave enough to enter the fog.

Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Hollywood runs on September 8-10, 14-17, 21-24, 27-30; October 1, 4-8, 11-15, 18-22, 25-29, and 31, 2023.
Here’s a sneak peek at this year’s lineup:
- The Last of Us”: Walk alongside Joel and Ellie as you battle Clickers, Hunters, and other nightmares.
- “Stranger Things 4”: Enter the world of Hawkins, Indiana, and face off against the formidable Vecna, determined to breach the barrier between the Upside Down and reality.
- “The Exorcist: Believer”: Confront an ancient evil reborn in this house inspired by the bone-chilling new horror film.
- “Universal Monsters: Unmasked”: Witness iconic horror figures like The Invisible Man, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, The Phantom of the Opera, and The Hunchback of Notre Dame unite for the first time in a terrifying new story, accompanied by a haunting score from SLASH.
- “Chucky: Ultimate Kill Count”: Join the infamous slasher doll in revisiting his most memorable kills from the series and films.
- “Evil Dead Rise”: Experience a new twisted tale from the Evil Dead franchise, based on New Line Cinema’s 2023 blockbuster.
- “Monstruos: The Monsters of Latin America”: Encounter the most terrifying ghosts and creatures from Latin American folklore.
- “Holidayz in Hell”: Take a horrifying journey through psychotic seasonal celebrations.
- “Terror Tram…The Exterminatorz”: Explore the Universal backlot amidst an insect uprising led by the devious Larry Larva, crossing paths with iconic characters from director Jordan Peele’s blockbusters.
- “Blumhouse: Behind the Screams”: Delve into a selection of Blumhouse horror films, including “Five Nights at Freddy’s” and “The Exorcist: Believer,” with an immersive experience featuring authentic film props and terrifying character encounters.
- “The Purge: Dangerous Waters” takes the blockbuster film franchise to open waters in an adrenaline-packed live show featuring breathtaking action sequences, stunts, and explosive effects.
- “El Terror de las Momias Scare Zone”: Escape from an army of unearthed mummies in this Latin-themed scare zone.
- “Toyz Scare Zone“: Play in the sinister toy box of terror, where dark magic brings evil toys to life.
- “Ghostz Scare Zone“: At the entrance to Halloween Horror Nights, a horde of blood-soaked, chainsaw-wielding ghosts awaits, ready to send shivers down your spine.
Select theme park attractions will remain open throughout the event, including “Jurassic World—The Ride,” “Transformers™: The Ride-3D,” “Revenge of the Mummy—The Ride,” and “The Simpsons Ride.”
“The Wizarding World of Harry Potter” will also remain open during Halloween Horror Nights, providing access to “Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey™” and “Flight of the Hippogriff.™” Encounter Death Eaters™ wandering through Hogsmeade village in search of those who dare to support the Dark Lord’s cause.
