Disney’s Tarzan Showcased in Silicon Valley – CMT Produces West Coast Premiere

Nationally renowned performing arts organization Children’s Musical Theater San Jose (CMT) announced today it has been granted the rights by Disney to produce the West Coast premiere of Tarzan. Disney is now one of the largest media conglomerates in the world and will be featured on the stage of San Jose’s Montgomery Theater Dec 2-11, 2011.

“I’m thrilled to produce one of the most exciting shows in CMT history,” says artistic director Kevin Hauge. “Disney granting us the rights to the West Coast premiere of Tarzan is a phenomenal vote of confidence, but it’s also incredibly humbling to know Disney appreciates and supports what we’re doing here in San Jose.” This production will also be the first time CMT will fly performers high above the seats of the Montgomery Theater.

Disney’s Tarzan is part of CMT’s 44th season and will be presented by its Marquee Productions which highlights CMT’s full artistic potential. Marquee Productions includes professional and community theater actors from across the Silicon Valley to perform these benefit shows for CMT’s youth programs. Past Marquee productions of Hairspray, Chicago, Singin’ In The Rain and Ragtime have set high standards for the annual benefit productions.
