Drunk Guest Attacks EPCOT Cast Member and Tries to Sneak Backstage. Here we go again. Another story of a drunk person acting out. The only difference this time is we know the defendant woke up the next morning with regret and fully cooperated with authorities. Unfortunately, at the end of the day that was not enough to keep Disney from trespassing on them.
Taking things out on Cast Members needs to stop! Cast members are there to just do the job they are assigned to do. They do not make the rules, they just keep us safe and help us follow the rules. So please, I am sure all of us are sick to our stomachs hearing of another Cast member being assaulted for just doing their job.

Drunk Guest Attacks EPCOT Cast Member and Tries to Sneak Backstage
On Friday, February 10, 2023, at 1743 hours, I, Deputy Gallon, responded to Walt Disney World Epcot in reference to an altercation between a cast member and guest, which occurred on the previous evening. Upon my arrival, I met with the victim and witness. As a result of my investigation, I developed probable cause to make an arrest for aggravated assault, battery, and trespass after warning.
A male guest, later identified as Patrick Brendan Delehanty, at the World Showcase Promenade, between the Mexico Bridge and Disney Traders.
Patrick was laying outside on the ground in the rain. offered to assist a male friend who was with Patrick. While waiting for a wheelchair, Patrick became aggressive, getting to his feet, and shouting. Next Patrick picked up a stanchion, attempting to swing or throw it at who was in fear of being struck.
The stanchion picked up by Patrick was tethered to a second stanchion, preventing him from striking with it. Patrick picked up the stanchion a second time, before slamming it to the ground. Next, Patrick picked up a table and threw it over a nearby waist-high fence.
As was trying to redirect other cast members away from the area, Patrick came up to his left side and struck him across the face with his hand. Patrick pushed their head back on the follow-through. Patrick continued to yell as an additional cast member arrived on the scene. Patrick then took off running to a backstage area in Mexico, attempting to get into one of the buildings.
I responded to the Coronado Springs Resort, where Patrick and his family had a reservation. I made contact with Patrick at room 6562. I walked him back to my vehicle, where he agreed to speak with me, post-Miranda. Patrick stated he had been in Epcot the previous night with a friend, where he had consumed alcohol. He recalled to a pub with a friend, however, he stated he had no recollection of the events of the previous night (roughly 1930 hours), until the next morning, at
approximately 0400 hours. Patrick had no recollection of the events the night before.
Charge of trespass after warning on behalf of the Walt Disney World company. I transported Patrick to the Orange County jail without issue. He was fully cooperative throughout my interaction with him.
