‘Harry Potter’ Actor Leslie Phillips Has Passed Away at Age 98
Actor Leslie Phillips, who voiced the iconic Sorting Hat in the Harry Potter franchise, passed away on Monday, November 7, 2022 at the age of 98. The news was shared by his talent agent Jonathan Llyod who shared that Phillips passed “peacefully in his sleep”.

Phillips began his journey as an actor in the 1930’s and after World War II Leslie caught his big break after being cast in Les Girls (musical) with Gene Kelly. He also stared in the “Carry On” films, Venus, Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, Harry Potter films, with many more movie and television roles. Leslie earned an impressive 173 credits as an actor, as well as being a producer and author throughout his career.
