Carla Hall partners with Disney’s Celebrate Soulfully
Celebrity Chef Carla Hall, best known for her appearances on The Chew, Best Baker in America, and the Holiday Baking Championship shows, has partnered with Disney for their Celebrate Soulfully initiative.
Disney created Celebrate Soulfully as a way to provide guests of color a cultural experience that will make them feel included and represented throughout the Disney Parks, products, and experiences.
As part of this initiative, a line of Princess Tiana merchandise was recently released featuring Tiana-themed cookware and apparel. This is the first time Princess Tiana has had her own specific line of festival merchandise.
To help celebrate the launch, Celebrate Soulfully Disney enlisted the help of Chef Carla Hall alongside other black journalists to visit several eateries across Disney World’s Parks and Resorts to try our dishes inspired by Black stories throughout the globe.
Members of the media were treated to dining and entertainment starting with a private dinner at Animal Kingdom Lodge’s Jiko restaurant. The menu has lots of African-inspired dishes with lots of exotic flavors that are a nice experience outside ordinary theme park fare.
Carla Hall started the food tour off at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort at Scat Cats Club a southern jazz-style lounge known for its atmosphere, beverages, and beignets. Next up is a stop at two of Disney Springs’s popular eateries, The Polite Pig and Chef Art Smiths’ Homecoming. The tour ended in Animal Kingdoms Tiffins restaurant.

Things wrapped up with a live cooking demonstration given by Carla Hall and Disney Chef Douglas. Princess Tiana even made an appearance as well.
Carla Hall was outspoken on her love for the Disney brand as well as its Celebrate Soulfully Campaign and expressed excitement and enthusiasm for her partnership with Disney.
I love that Disney is all about inclusivity. Whether it’s making sure guests with food allergies can be included at Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party, representing physically disabled guests in-store displays, or making sure that everyone feels culturally represented I have to applaud them for their efforts.
