Walt Disney Company delays moving to Lake Nona till 2026
Last summer Disney announced that the Walt Disney Company would be moving around 2000 employees from California to Florida. The new campus would be in Lake Nona, Florida. It’s now been confirmed that the move is delayed until 2026.

Disney spokeswoman Jacquee Wahler shared with the Orlando Sentinel that the delay will “give people more time” and accommodate the construction timeline. Previously, the campus was expected to open in December of this year.
The new campus was planned to complement Disney’s operations in Southern California and its regional hub in the New York City area.

The news of the delay comes after Disney and Florida legislators have had some tension over the Parental Rights in Education legislation. Florida Governor DeSantis has also signed laws to dissolve some of Disney’s exemptions in the state. Wahler said the dispute had nothing to do with the delay though.
