Disney buys 60 acres in Lake Nona for new campus

Dynamic Campus LLC, an entity related to Disney, spent roughly $46 million for 60 acres of land. The land sold for roughly $766,666 an acre. No public statement has been made yet regarding the future of the purchased land, but it certainly looks like Disney and Tavistock have big plans for the future in Lake Nona. Especially since the land is adjacent to the upcoming Disney campus and community development.

In the early summer, we reported how Disney planned on moving two thousand employees to Lake Nona, Florida. Even though it seems like a significant number of employees, there is room to move more California employees to Florida. A media giant as big as Disney is sure to seek cost efficient measures.

According to the Orlando Business Journal:

The business cost advantages of Orlando versus Southern California and the overall business climate advantages of Florida versus California are very compelling for Disney

We may see another Disney community being developed in the near future! Disney and developer Tavistock Development are reportedly in talks to build a residential and commercial community in Lake Nona in southeast Orlando. The Orlando Business Journal is saying how sources tell them Tavistock may soon be Disney’s developer for the future mixed-use development.

But why build a mixed-use community? Lake Nona is in a fitting area for Orlando due to its convenient location. It’s near an airport and other businesses. Of course, it could be an ideal spot for Disney to relocate Walt Disney Company positions from California to Florida.

A big factor in moving in is determining what kind of lifestyle you wish to have for everyday life. You can enjoy more than just the theme parks in Orlando. There’s the warm weather, swimming pools, lakes for boating or fishing, and festive arts to name a few options. You’re also close to Cocoa Beach and can travel anywhere within the state of Florida in less than a few hours.

The Orlando area is also big on community, too. You’ll find many welcoming communities for people looking to move to Central Florida. A great thing about the area is that you’ll meet new Disney friends! It’s great to be able to enjoy the special events available at Disney Resorts when you dine there, plus you have so many other entertainment options on property.
