New Update on Magical Express replacement Mears Connect

Mears Connect

Mears Connect is replacing Disney’s Magical Express on January 1, 2022. Previously, this year we relayed the news, that Magical Express would no longer operate come the new year. Unquestionably, people were very upset by this news, and fans petitioned to keep the service running. We now have an updated website at Mears Connect with new info about the upcoming service replacing Magical Express.

Disney’s Magical Express Service provides transportation for Disney Resort hotel Guests between Orlando International Airport and their Disney Resort hotel via motorcoach. Reservations are required to use this service.
Disney’s Magical Express service will no longer be offered starting with arrivals on January 1, 2022. The service will continue to operate for new and existing reservations made at Disney Resort hotels for arrivals throughout 2021.
Luggage delivery for those arriving to and departing from the airport and Resort Airline Check-In Service is no longer available.

New Update on Magical Express replacement Mears Connect

Starting summer of 2021 guests of Walt Disney World Resorts can start making reservations on the new service. There has been no word on the cost associated with this. Disney’s Magical Express is a complimentary benefit available to Guests of Disney Resort hotels in 2021. Subsequently, this means the cost was already built into your vacation package. This is obviously a cost-saving measure on Disney’s part.

At the time the cheapest Mears service we can find is $39.00 US Dollars one-way for an adult and $30.00 for kids under 12, from MCO to Disney Hotel Resorts.

  1. What about al Disney Vacation Club Members. If its built into the price, we already paid for it. Are they going to give me a refund ?

  2. We rented a car last September and drove to the parks. We got free parking since we were staying at a resort. It was faster than waiting in the long lines.

  3. The drawback of Uber or Lyft is that you have to then bring a car seat if you have young children. This is terrible for those families with kids and they are clearly not thinking of their customers

  4. This will mean more people rent cars. Disney will make more money on parking fees. They will have to increase the size of the resort parking areas. Parking at resorts will be a nightmare.

  5. We used Uber & Lyft our entire stay a few weeks ago. MCO to our resort was $29 one way with Uber and $35 on our way back with Lyft. We downloaded both apps and snagged the cheapest offer. It’s nice they don’t charge per person & you can snag a ride right away without a reservation.

  6. This will actually save you money by renting a car because you will not be stuck on Disney property and can eat much cheaper…. You will no longer be forced to eat only Disney food!

  7. Disney continues to make it harder for us to visit. They really are pricing us out. If they continue to give us less and cost us more, then we’ll have to vacation elsewhere.
I can see Disney execs sitting around a table just like the scene from Jurassic Park. “And we can charge anything we want, 2000 a day, 10000 a day, and people will pay it.”

  8. I think based on the prices published in the article…..lyft/Uber services are the way to go. We are arriving in February as a party of 7 and based on current prices the aforementioned method will save us around $200 when compared to Mears

  9. We just rented a car for the first time in decades. Based on the potential Mears pricing, renting a car will be the best choice for our family in the future. Disney got a lot less of our money but being able to grocery shop and get to the parks early and easily was a game changer! We used the monorail one day, the skyliner another and took a bus to and from Disney Springs. Otherwise, having our own vehicle was surprisingly great!
