Melissa McCarthy Has Finished Recording Music for the Live-Action ‘The Little Mermaid‘ Remake. Actress Melissa McCarthy has shared she is done recording her portion of ‘The Little Mermaid‘ live-action remake soundtrack. McCarthy shared with SiriusXM, “Like I’ve already recorded, you know, I did all my rehearsals in London. I’m going back in about a month to actually get to do the scenes that we rehearsed.”
Composers Alan Menken and Lin-Manuel Miranda have shared there will be new and reimagined music in the live-action remake, with both musicians sharing excitement for fans to hear the revamped soundtrack.

Filming for The Little Mermaid is well underway at Pinewood Studios in London. The Cast for Disney’s Live-Action The Little Mermaid currently includes: Halle Bailey (Ariel), Jonah Hauer-King (Prince Eric), Melissa McCarthy (Ursula), Javier Bardem (King Triton), Jacob Tremblay (Flounder), Emily Coates (Unspecified, rumored: Vanessa), Daveed Diggs (Sebastian), Awkwafina (Scuttle) and Noma Dumezweni (unspecified). Disney has yet to announce a premiere date for the film.
