Another Avenger Joins the Cast of ‘The Falcon and the Winter Soldier‘. Marvel fans are eagerly awaiting the premiere of Disney+ Original Series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, which navigates the events for several Avengers after Avengers: Endgame. The new series will primarily focusing on Sam Wilson (The Falcon) and Bucky Barnes (The Winter Soldier), but it seems another Avenger has joined the cast!

Don Cheadle is set to return as James “Rhodey” Rhodes, aka War Machine, in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier and has shared that events in the series will set off the Armor Wars storyline from the comics within the MCU. Cheadle shared with BroBible, “It’s really a fun and interesting and, by all imagination, completely open-ended — this can go anywhere. It’s great, I can’t wait to get in the room with the writers and figure out how all those things [Armor Wars in the MCU] happen. You know, Rhodey shows up in Winter Soldier and Falcon’s show. So, it can be a lot.”

Don continued, “That’s some of the fun of the MCU, that we all get to show up in each other’s stories, and there are ways that we’re cross-platforming these characters, and they become storylines, sometimes, in the movies. And then these storylines in the movies become storylines in the shows.”

Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan will return as Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes for the new series and are joined by Emily VanCamp (Sharon Carter), Wyatt Russell (U.S. Agent), Daniel Brühl (Baron Zemo), Don Cheadle (James Rhodes) and Adepero Oduye (Sarah Wilson). The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is set to premiere exclusively on Disney+ on March 19, 2021.
