Did you know there was once a PeopleMover at Disneyland? Similar to the Tomorrowland Transit Authority (also called the People Mover) in Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World, the attraction at Disneyland opened in 1967 and took guests on a “grand circle tour” above Tomorrowland. The attraction closed in 1995, but its station and track infrastructure are still in place.
There is a petition on change.org to get Disneyland to bring the Peoplemover back. Emmy V. started the petition which says:
“My dear friends, it is with great sadness that I must repeat again that we have been without the Peoplemover for 25 years, since 1995. It was devastatingly replaced with the Rocket Rods which destroyed its track and the ride’s history. I think it is time, we are in a new era, we must bring back the Peoplemover! Let us come together in this time of devastation and bring back history, happiness, and magic! Disney, I think it is time you give the people what they want. Bob Iger, an angel to the Disney community, bring back what the fans love before your time as CEO comes to an end. Please sign the petition to help bring back the Peoplemover once and for all! Thank you for reading and share this with the Disney community.”
If you agree and would like to sign the petition, you can do that here.
