‘Hamilton’ Breaks Streaming Records for Disney+ and Dominated Viewing in Early July. Move over Baby Yoda! Hamilton has broken new streaming records for Disney+ according to a new report from streaming service analysis company, 7Park.
7park shared the statistics of Hamilton‘s influence on the streaming service and reported: “Streaming Video Monitor report, the streaming version of “Hamilton” was the most-viewed title across all streaming platforms for July 1-5. The firm also reported that 80% of Disney+ users watched “Hamilton” and that it accounted for 87% of time spent on the Disney+ platform.”
It comes as no surprise that the highly anticipated release of Hamilton on Disney+ would certainly spike subscribers and viewing, but to have 80% of subscribers stream the film is a task not even The Mandalorian could accomplish.
Hamilton has been a raging success thus far and is gaining more fans each and everyday after the exuberant ticket prices due to the high demand during it’s initial Broadway run. Now that theaters are black until Broadway reopens in 2021, folks are jumping at the opportunity to see the show for the first time, with many claiming to be watching the musical multiple times, or even on repeat.
How you seen Hamilton yet? Which songs or moments speak the most to you? For those who are lucky enough to have seen both, how does the film compare to the stage? We would love to hear your thoughts in the comments.
