D23 has announced that it will postpone its ‘Destination D’ event until 2021. The event, ‘Destination D: Fantastic Worlds’ was supposed to take place November 20-22 at the Walt Disney World Resort.
D23 is the official Disney fan club and it hosts different events throughout the year.
‘Destination D: Fantastic Worlds’ was going to honor the many magical places of Disney. In addition, The Walt Disney Archives was curating a new exhibit featuring 50 treasures representing 50 years to celebrate its 50th anniversary this year. Mickey’s of Glendale, Walt Disney Imagineering’s exclusive merchandise store, was set to return with a pop-up shop featuring exclusive items available just for the event.
There is no set date for when this event will take place next year. D23 says they will continue to host virtual events in 2020. You can see the Facebook post from D23 below:
