‘Toy Story 4‘ Director Tapped to Direct New ‘Transformers‘ Animated Film. According to ComicBook.com, Toy Story 4 director Josh Cooley has been hired as director for an untitled animated Transformers movie, one of two Transformer movies currently in production at Paramount Pictures.
The animated film is reportedly being called a “prequel” by Paramount Pictures and Hasbro, but will not be considered canon with the older films in the franchise. Andrew Barrer & Gabriel Ferrari are sign on to pen the script for the film. Barrer and Ferrari are best known for their work together on Marvel Studios’ Ant-Man and The Wasp.
Not much is currently known about the new animated feature, other than the story will take place on Cybertron, the home planet of the Transformers franchise. No casting choices have been made at the time of writing.
