Disney is donating one million cloth masks to help children and families across the U.S.! With the slow reopening of the country and the CDC’s recommendation of wearing face masks in public, Disney has now decided to create their own line of cloth masks, featuring some of your favorite characters.
In addition to offering them for sale, Disney is donating cloth masks to those in need by giving away one million masks through MedShare, as well as donating all profits (up to $1 million through September 30, 2020) from U.S. cloth mask sales to MedShare.
These gracious gifts will help to slow the spread of COVID-19 in “vulnerable communities” where folks are not able to take certain medical precautions- such as wearing a cloth mask.
“Disney’s donations will make a tremendous impact in the communities we serve,” said Charles Redding, CEO and president of MedShare. “Their contribution of one million face masks will be provided to families in underserved communities and organizations working to limit the spread of COVID-19, while their monetary donation will be used to support the medical community’s ongoing efforts to provide lifesaving care to those who need it most.” (Disney Parks Blog)
We are happy to see the Walt Disney Company taking part in slowing down the spread of COVID-19 and helping those in need!
