Disneyland Paris Celebrating Earth Month
Throughout April, Disneyland Paris celebrating Earth Month by showing its continued commitment to environmental stewardship. These include three key priorities to maintain Disneyland Paris as an innovative and sustainable tourism destination. These three key priorities include; reducing the environmental impact, enriching biodiversity, and inspiring guests and cast members to take action for the environment. During this celebration of Earth Month, Disneyland Paris are taking time to recognize some of the “Magic Keepers,” who continue to maintain the beauty and magic of the Parks, even during lockdown! These “Magic Keepers” include a small group of cast members from the Nature and Environment Team! They are responsible for all the resort’s green spaces and tend to thousands of flowers, shrubs and trees that bring the magic of Disneyland Paris to life!
Whilst Disneyland Paris celebrating Earth Month, the horticulture team, consisting of gardeners and arboriculturalists, support Disneyland Paris throughout the year. Together, they carry out innovative and sustainable initiatives to encourage biodiversity throughout Disneyland Paris. This is a big challenge as they are responsible for more than 400 hectares of green spaces as well as preserving the local heritage and ensuring that the magic of nature continues at the resort.
Finally, guests are also part of the Disneyland Paris environment initiative. Last year, Disneyland Paris partnered up with the start-up Wakatoon last spring to launch an interactive coloring game for guests that combines play and creativity with an environmentally-friendly message. During this lockdown period, check out the at-home, digital version of the game! Witht he game, families can color drawings of Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse, which can then be uploaded to the Wakatoon app to see the images come alive and reveal educational messages on how selective sorting works.
