Is Marvel Studios Introducing the Next Generation of Heroes?

Is Marvel Studios Introducing the Next Generation of Heroes? With the addition of Marvel content premiering on Disney+, Marvel Studios has a window of opportunity to introduce new characters into the MCU without having to repeatedly release origin stories as standalone films and slowing down the theatrical releases for major titles.

One of the rumored projects is a “Young Avenger” series or film that would introduce Marvel fans to the next generation of heroes as some of the veteran heroes step into leadership roles within the Avengers organization. The most likely to step up to the plate will be key figures, Tom Holland‘s Spider-Man and Brie Larson‘s Captain Marvel.

“The Young Avengers are a fictional superhero team appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. The team, created by Allan Heinberg and Jim Cheung, features numerous adolescent characters who typically have connections to established members of Marvel’s primary superhero team, the Avengers.”

Likely, Captain Marvel would help to groom Peter Parker/Spider-Man into a leader for the next generation of heroes likely to include: Kate Bishop (Hawkeye), Iron Lad (possibly, Harley Keener), Wiccan (Son of Scarlet Witch and Vision), and Stature (Cassie Lang). Also rumored to appear will be Kid Loki. Though, this is speculation on my behalf, these are the man characters who have either already been introduced or will be introduced soon in the new Marvel series coming to Disney+.

Young Avengers is not the only Avengers storyline the famed studio is looking to visit. Long standing rumors also indicate that Captain Marvel 2 will usher in the New Avengers for the MCU. Where Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel will lead the revamped team after the death of Tony Stark and the “disappearance” of Captain America and the separation of Avengers members after the final battle in Avengers: Endgame.

We can not wait to see what is in store both in theaters and on Disney+, but with the absence of household names such as Iron Man, Black Widow, and Captain America it will be VERY interesting to see where things go from here. What storylines would you like to see in the new phases of the MCU? Which characters do you think will be joining the New Avengers and Young Avengers? We would love to hear your thoughts and opinions in the comments.
