A Winter Park construction firm, Wilsten Group, claims that SeaWorld Orlando owes them money for construction work. Wilsten Group filed three construction liens against SeaWorld this week. According to the Orange County Comptroller’s records, Wilsten Group says SeaWorld owes them nearly $225,000 for construction work.
It’s not uncommon to hear of circumstances such as this one. Construction firms seek liens to protect their company so they don’t lose out on being paid. The construction liens in this case are for three separate projects at the SeaWorld Orlando theme park.
The first lien is for a beach bar at the Aquatica Orlando water park. Wilsten Group said SeaWorld owes them $175,390 for work on the beach bar alone. The second lien is for a bird cart at Discovery Cove. The last lien is for wave pool cabanas at the Aquatica water park.

SeaWorld has 12 theme parks throughout America. The coronavirus pandemic has made it difficult in recent weeks. All the theme parks are closed due to the pandemic, and SeaWorld furloughed more than 90% of their employees. The theme parks have been closed for over three weeks and no reopening date has been announced yet. Payments to vendors and contractors are delayed due to the closure, but SeaWorld is working individually with these parties for their future payments.
