Disney Springs Jaleo Helping Serve Meals to the Community

Chef Jose Andres is a world-renowned chef and humanitarian. He is the creator of Jaleo of Disney Springs and is at it again with his outreach efforts. He is coming to the aid of his workers and the community at large. This time Jaleo is serving up some much-needed meals to the Orlando Area during this pandemic. Orlando has become a hot spot for COVID-19 and many people are out of work due to this outbreak. Andres and the Jaleo team worked with Good Salt and Reyes Mezcaleria to get these meals out to the community. They made and delivered over 500 meals to the community this week. They also made special stops to deliver 120 meals to nurses in the downtown Orlando area.

Many may not know but this isn’t the first time Chef Andres has come to the rescue of sorts for his community. During Hurricane Maria in 2017, he came to the aid of Puerto Rico and helped facilitate serving over an astronomical 3.5 million meals to the devastated island. During hurricane Dorian, he also came to the aid of the Bahamas. Andres has been the recipient of the prestigious James Beard award and named Humanitarian of the Year, as well as holding many other high honors.
