Production Haults in Prague for Marvel’s ‘The Falcon and the Winter Soldier‘ Over Coronavirus Concerns. According to Deadline, the cast and crew of Marvel Studios The Falcon and the Winter Soldier have been asked to leave the set of the film in Prague and return to Atlanta, GA amid concerns for the spread of the coronavirus.
At this time it does not seem like anyone within the cast or crew are in immediate risk of infection, but Marvel seems to be putting the shoot on hiatus as a preventative measure for the health and safety of the team working on the new Disney+ series.
The series has seen several set backs since filming began in November 2019 including:unscheduled reshoots, scrapped production in Puerto Rico after devastating earthquakes, and now delays in production due to the coronavirus outbreak worldwide. At the time of writing the series is still expected to hit its scheduled release date on Disney+ in August 2020, but that may change if production can not resume soon.
“Following the events of “Avengers: Endgame,” Sam Wilson/Falcon (Anthony Mackie) and Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan) team up in a global adventure that tests their abilities—and their patience—in Marvel Studios’ “The Falcon and The Winter Soldier.” The all-new series is directed by Kari Skogland; Malcolm Spellman is the head writer. Debuts on Disney+ August 2020.”
