Director David Mickey Evans Confirms 'The Sandlot' Series Is Coming to Disney+

Director David Mickey Evans Confirms ‘The Sandlot’ Series Is Coming to Disney+. Recently, The Sandlot Director, David Mickey Evans, spoke with The Rain Delay and shared stories and memories he made while filming the 1993 hit film. At the end of their conversation and before parting ways, Evans shared some new and exciting news exclusively with The Rain Delay.

“I just finished ‘The Sandlot’ sequel and…  I just sold a Sandlot television show. We’re about to get an order for first two seasons.”

The Rain Delay knew Evans likely could not name names, but asked “What CAN you tell us?”

David responded, “I can’t tell you who is going to stream it. …But, I know who’s going to stream it. …It doesn’t take a genius to figure that out right now.” He teased, “No, I can’t talk about it, but I already got all the original cast members back. It takes place in 1984 when they are all like 33 years-old and they all have children of their own and that is all I can tell you.”

Currently, the Sandlot is available to stream exclusively on Disney+ after the merger between Disney and Fox, so two guesses who will be getting the TV Series Evans is referring to. (Hint: It’s Disney+) We can not WAIT to see the original cast reprise their roles and share in this experience with each other and the generations of fans who have grown up loving The Sandlot.
