How far would you go for Disney? One man, Don Muchow, is embarking upon an epic run that will take him from coast to coast. Don is determined to complete a Disneyland-to-Disney World ultra marathon. This runner’s journey is quite different from what runDisney offers in terms of distance!
Don started his run in Newport Beach, CA on February 1st. From there, he ran over 14 miles to arrive at the esplanade between Disneyland and Disney California Adventure. He will run over 2,830 miles from Disneyland to Walt Disney World. The last leg of Don’s journey will be going from Disney World to Melbourne, FL so he can say he started at the Pacific Ocean and finished at the Atlantic Ocean. Don hopes to complete his Run Across America in 98 days and finish on May 8th, 2020.
The runner’s journey will take him through nine states. He already knows it’ll take him an estimated nine days to reach Walt Disney World once he crosses the Florida state line. Don already knows what he will do when reaches the Magic Kingdom. “Eat, get a massage, and go ride It’s a Small World,” said Don Muchow. He’ll have a day filled with Disney fun at Magic Kingdom before finishing his last 74 miles to arrive at Melbourne.
Don is an inspiration to others for his commitment to running long distances. With the right mindset and determination, we can achieve fantastic feats. Maybe one of our readers will think about joining a runDisney race in the future!
