Photos Reveal First Look at U.S. Agent in ‘The Falcon and the Winter Soldier‘ Coming Soon to Disney+. New photo reveal Wyatt Russell in costume as John Walker, also known as U.S. Agent, from Marvel Comics.
Russell’s new character will be featured in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, alongside Marvel Alumni, Anthony Mackie (Sam Wilson/Falcon) and Sebastian Stan (Bucky Barnes/The Winter Soldier). The new Marvel Series will stream exclusively on Disney+ along with other Marvel based series such as WandaVision, Loki, Moon Knight, She-Hulk, and Ms. Marvel.
Wyatt Russell appears in costume while filming for the new series and though the costume may suggest otherwise, John Walker is a VERY different character than Steve Rogers/Captain America. In the comics, U.S. Agent has many hats, and has been a hero, anti-hero, villain, anti-villain, and everything in between. Even forcing Steve Rogers to come out of retirement to try and convince Walker to change his ways.
The multi-facaded character makes for the perfect opportunity for Marvel to keep the story hidden from fans up until the series release on Disney+, since we will likely not know the purpose of the character until the series premiere. The costume is a close likeness to U.S. Agents iconic uniform within the comics, while balancing the identifiable costume structure of the films.
Presumably in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, U.S. Agent is the assigned replacement for Captain America by the U.S. Government after the “death” of Steve Rogers/Captain America during the final stand against Thanos and his army in Avengers: Endgame. It is unclear how he will be introduced in the series.
We will also see the return of Emily VanCamp as Sharon Carter/Agent 13 in the series as she works for the CIA and likely helping our heroes.
“The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is an upcoming American web television mini-series created for Disney+ by Malcolm Spellman, based on the Marvel Comics characters Sam Wilson/Falcon and Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier. It is set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, sharing continuity with the films of the franchise. The series is set to premiere in late 2020, exclusively on Disney+.”
