There’s a lot of gingerbread around the Parks at this time of year, and the resorts start to get some of the love that they deserve through visits from Holiday gawkers. The granddaddy of all gingerbread houses at the Grand Floridian is what Disney-goers usually think of when they make their plans. Other favorites include this year’s first-ever gingerbread house at the Wilderness Lodge. But did you know that there’s a very special gingerbread display at Epcot? It’s located in the American Adventure attraction building and it’s filled with patriotic beauty and sweetness!
The display is an accumulation of easily-recognizable American landmarks, such as the United States Capitol Building and its iconic white dome (made of chocolate! Even better than the original, don’t you think?).
The Jefferson Memorial is also on display. Something tells me the holly bears a resemblance to a certain famous mouse too!
The Lincoln Memorial has impressive details, and of course, a notable figure sitting inside!
But perhaps the most impressive piece of work is the Washington Monument, which stands at 7 feet tall. Who doesn’t love an edible structure that’s bigger than they are? And gracing it, along with the other monuments, are a few seasonal decorations to tie them all together in a Christmas theme.
What a magnificent display! Be sure and head over to Epcot’s American Adventure to discover what 160 pounds of gingerbread look like! And be sure to keep your eyes open for those hidden Mickeys while you’re there!
