Director Scott Derrickson Spoiled Scarlet Witch Joining ‘Doctor Strange 2‘ Years Ago. Scott Derrickson is set to direct Marvel’s first “horror” movie, Doctor Strange: In the Multiverse of Madness, and another Avenger is set to join Doctor Strange in the sequel.
Elizabeth Olsen is set to reprise her role as Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch in the sequel to Doctor Strange. Olsen will be working hard in 2020, filming for both Doctor Strange: In the Multiverse of Madness, and WandaVision on Disney’s new streaming service, Disney+.
The news of Scarlet Witch joining the cast of Doctor Strange 2 was officially announced at 2019 San Diego Comic Con during Marvel’s massive Hall H panel revealing Phase 4 of the MCU and exclusive Marvel content for Disney+, but it seems Scott Derrickson actually revealed her casting 2 years ago on Reddit. Eagle eyed Marvel Fan and Reddit user: whipg, shared this previous comment left by the director on reddit 2 years ago.
“Scott Derrickson has been teasing Scarlet Witch in a Doctor Strange movie for some time,” says Reddit user whipg.

The comment seems to have been swept under the rug for some time and has started garnishing renewed interest since the meaning behind the comment has been revealed. Derrickson will direct Doctor Strange: In the Multiverse of Madness which is set to release in theaters May 7, 2021.
As previously stated, Elizabeth will also be working on Disney+ and Marvel’s WandaVision alongside Paul Bettany (Vision). During Disney’s 2019 D23 Expo Olsen spoke with MTV News regarding the new series. “I think they’re writing that right now, but I don’t really know much about it,” Olsen told MTV News.
MTV News also asked how she felt about working with Benedict Cumberbatch on Doctor Strange 2,“I’m really excited, I’ve never really got to work with him except for one shot where he was landing, and I was shooting something, and that was it. And we did that for like six hours one day together.”
We can’t wait to see what happens in Doctor Strange: In the Multiverse of Madness and how Marvel will portray their first “horror” film to audiences. It’s bound to be a hair-raising experience.
Are you excited for Doctor Strange: In the Multiverse of Madness? Do you think the events of the film will reflect in WandaVision? Did you know about Derrickson’s leak already? We would love to hear your thoughts in the comments.
