Walt Disney World’s Hollywood Studios has seen some big changes in the last couple of years, but Disney is not done yet. In the spring of 2020, they are set to open a new ride that will come as a welcome child-friendly option for families coming to a park that has had a reputation of being for the big kids. Well stand aside and let the Mousketeers through because it’s almost time for Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway!
The ride is based on the newer Mickey Mouse cartoons and will feature a trackless ride system, which seems to be the direction of many new rides across the parks. Goofy will be the conductor of the train that guests will board, while Mickey and Minnie ride alongside in their roadster, prepared to help ward off any mayhem ahead!
At this year’s D23 Expo, attendees have had the privilege and pleasure of being the first to see Goofy’s crazy train. It, like the cartoons that inspired it, shows a great deal of color and whimsy. Guests will enjoy seeing a life-sized version when the attraction opens, not to mention getting to ride in it! Costumes for cast members have also been unveiled, again with a bright color palette and the overall appearance of a conductor’s or train staff’s uniform.
Guests are eager to see where this ride will take them, as it promises to go beyond reality and into a wacky cartoon world that defies natural law. Parents, prepare yourselves, your children will be asking to ride Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway over and over again!
