Back in 2017, at the D23 Expo, Walt Disney World fans were promised that a Tron roller coaster would be on its way to the Magic Kingdom in 2021. Now, in 2019, that experience is feeling closer than ever. At this year’s D23 Expo, guests are getting a first look at some of the details surrounding the new Tron roller coaster, already popular in Shanghai. New ride means new cast member threads, which were just unveiled to the public.
The outfits are clearly influenced by the 2010 version of the film ”Tron: Legacy, ” while not straying far from the image of the 1983 original classic ”Tron.” The sleek black uniforms are a welcome sight to lovers of the cult classic, who’ll recognize a bit of Sam and Quorra in the bold lines across the fronts of the tops.
For those who were not fans of either film or maybe neglected to see them entirely, what needs to be known is that the ride will simulate the inside of a virtual reality game. Guests will be invited to ride a light cycle (pictured above), the vehicle of choice in the ”Tron” films. It will be a blast through the digital world that promises to thrill anyone tall enough to ride. It has, after all, become the top-rated ride in Disneyland Shanghai.
With the new Tron attraction set to open in Tomorrowland in 2021, fans think it’s all over but the waiting. However, every new detail that comes out only proves that it’s a ride worth waiting for.
