Pepe by José Andrés Boasts Fresh, Quick Spanish Eats

Pepe by José Andrés is already a very popular food truck from the Washington D.C. area and now they have a quick dining spot at Disney Springs featuring many of the same, Spanish-style foods.  Two of their most popular sandwiches are the Pollo Frito (featured above) and the Pepito Ternera.  The Pollo Frito features freshly breaded chicken, piparra peppers, gem lettuce, aioli, Brava sauce and Sherry dressing. My favorite was the Pepito Ternara which consists of flat iron steak, carmelized onions, cheese and mayo on a thin bread with a light crunch (shown below).

The other sandwich highlights include the B.E.L.T (bacon, egg, lettuce, and tomato) and Bocata de Vegetales (available in Vegan) which are both served on the same delicious bread as the steak sandwich.  The Bikini sandwiches are top-of-the-line grilled cheese with the option of ham inside.  All of the sandwiches we got to taste had some of the best meat and freshest vegetables of the quick service options at Disney Springs.

In addition to sandwiches, side options include Gazpacho, salad and Patatas Bravas, a spin on the creative potato dish served at Jaleo.  The specialty potato chips are topped with aioli and Brava sauce.

Finally, 0ne of my favorites of the afternoon was dessert.  Leche Merengada is a unique soft serve option made with lemon zest and topped with cinnamon.  You also have the option of swirling it with the seasonal sorbet!

There is also an assortment of beverages including homemade Sangría.  Their Sangría is even available in a to-go carafe with stacking cups.  All-in-all Pepe is a perfect spot to grab lunch or dinner on the go while not sacrificing taste.

The restaurant is connected to Jaleo and has seating in the front part of the restaurant.  Come see what all the hype in D.C. has been about!
