Contemporary? Vintage WDW Images

I love looking back through old photos to see how the Disney parks and resorts have changed through the years, what do you think of this picture of the Contemporary Resort from September of 1972?

Did you know these rooms were built on an assembly line that produced about 15 a day?

The rooms look much more lush and the beds quite cozy now:

  1. This is where my family stayed on my first visit to Disney when I was 2, and I bet they still had those egg chairs then. 🙂

  2. I think it’s convenient that the monorail runs through it, but can you hear it every time it comes through? I remember shopping in the gift shop that’s right there under the tracks, and that was obviously loud, and I’ve wondered since then, but couldn’t find anyone to ask.

  3. Minnie even returned to our table several times because our little girl (who was 13 months old at the time) kept blowing her kisses and calling out to her.
