Disney’s Gran Destino Tower at Coronado Springs Resort is now open! Chip was invited to the media event for the dedication of the new resort. Take a look the lobby and the exquisite art and Spanish theme throughout. Gran Destino Tower will contribute 545 new guest rooms, 50 of which are suites, as well as include a themed restaurant on the top level. It will feature a magnificent 2-story lobby trimmed with classic Spanish themes praising explorers, writers, artists, and architects. The Spanish influences will be felt entirely through the new building and renovated rooms.
Disney Parks, Experiences and Consumer Products Chairman, Bob Chapek also announced that the 1800 existing rooms have been entirely completed in refurbishment. This includes new fixtures, furniture, and lighting in each room! In addition to the completion of refurbished rooms and the new tower, a second restaurant will be available to guests. It will sit on the island centered in Lago Dorado. New walkways have also been established over the lake to make dining at the island accessible to all guests no matter where they may be roomed.
With a fresh coat of paint to provide harmony between the existing and new elements of this fabulous resort, we are certain that it will be a “must see.” As with any resort on property, although designed with a Spanish motif, we can entirely expect to see ounces of Disney tossed in here or there. Certainly, the resort will once again become a favorite of guests as it adds a new dimension to Disney theming and immersion while providing a comfortable place to rest after a long day in the parks.
