Parking Information For Galaxy’s Edge Disneyland Opening & More!

Galaxy's Edge Parking

Planning on visiting the “Happiest Place on Earth” for the big opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge?  We’ve got the deets in the parking situation in and around Disneyland Resort.

Parking lots for opening day on May 31st will open at midnight.  Guests will not be allowed to enter any Disneyland parking establishment beforehand and there will be no queueing allowed on the nearby roads.  Disneyland is opening lots very early in preparation for excited early arrivers.  But remember, you’ll still need a reservation to be allowed into the land on opening day – no exceptions!

Starting June 1, parking lots will open at 5:30 am for park guests.  Again, there’s no need for Star Wars fans to arrive early, because everyone will have a dedicated 4-hour reservation time.

When you’re on your way to Disneyland Resort by car, you can check @DisneylandToday in twitter for the latest updates on which parking lots are currently accepting cars.  Check there and then head to the appropriate lot for available parking.

Soon the newest Pixar Pals parking structure will be open to accommodate even more guests looking to park close to the magic.  For now, Mickey & Friends and Toy Story lots will be the two primary parking lots.

Visiting After June 23rd?

After June 23rd, reservations are no longer required to enter Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.  After this date, Disneyland will enact a “virtual queuing system”.  Guests will enter Disneyland and log on to the Disneyland App to secure a “boarding pass”.  Once it’s your turn to enter the land, you’ll be notified via the app on your phone.  Paper passes will also be issued for anyone who doesn’t wish to use a smartphone.

Galaxy’s Edge WILL NOT be available for Extra Magic Hours or Magic Mornings.  The park and land will also be subject to capacity, so arrive early to be guaranteed access to the park during those first few days following June 23rd.  Disneyland will utilize the virtual queue system until crowds dictate there is no longer a need.

  1. It’s good that Disneyland is keeping the parking regulated, especially during the first month after opening. Typically, people want to be the first one to enter the parking lot to avoid crowds, but with the 4-hour window you’re guaranteed to be able to use your allotted time in Galaxy’s Edge & you don’t have to worry about getting to the parking lot extra early. It makes your visit less stressful & you don’t have to rush. #DisneyVacayGiveaway

  2. Sounds like a good time to arrive at 5:30am and take a nap! Just the parking rules shows how huge Galaxy’s Edge is going to be! #DisneyVacayGiveaway
