The Epcot International Festival of the Arts debuts today (Friday, January 18th, 2019) at Epcot. We’re getting a glimpse of the updated park map featuring all of the festival offerings around the park. Check out the full passport to see all of the fun offerings at the fesitval this year!
Notable additions to the festival map are the featured Disney on Broadway nightly performances at 5:30pm, 6:45pm and 8pm. The festival center will be in the Odyssey Building this year, located in the space between Test Track and the Mexico Pavilion. This is a change from previous years, where the festival center had been held in Wonders of Life building in Future World. Given the construction of the Guardians of the Galaxy Coaster, as well as the new space-themed restaurant near Mission: Space, it’s been moved to accommodate the construction. The Festival Showplace will be home to the Animation Academy, festival seminars, workshops, the Painter’s Palate, and the Festival Marketplace.
Epcot’s International Festival of the Arts takes place starting today, January 18th and will run through February 25th. Guests are invited to explore numerous offerings that celebrate the visual, culinary and performing arts. Artists travel from all over the world to showcase their art every year. Popular chefs whip-up unique food items that stretch the limit of cuisine, and Broadway stars entertain on a nightly basis with some of Disney’s classic musical numbers.
Special experiences and workshops are also available for those wanting to get a “hands-on” experience. You can paint with a Disney Artist, learn animation techniques, and learn to “Eat Like Walt”. There’s so much to see and do! The festival makes a great addition to any visit to Epcot this time of year. What’s your favorite festival activity?
