‘Storytelling Coaster’ – Epcot’s Guardians of the Galaxy Attraction – A Ride Like No Other – The first details of this epic ride are being shared. Innovations in this new storytelling coaster will amazing riders. Bringing to life the “Guardians of the Galaxy” adventure in an epic new way.
Disney Parks, Experiences and Consumer Products Chairman Bob Chapek shared details of how the ride system and passenger vehicles will present an encounter that is unique. A storytelling ride that fuses the epic story with coaster thrills.
“On most coasters, the vehicles point straight ahead throughout the ride,” Bob explained. “But on this attraction, each individual cab will be programmed to direct your eye to the story happening around you.
What does this mean for riders? It means you are not watching the action around you, you are part of it from the moment you launch! A few stats, once open the attraction will be one of the longest enclosed roller coasters in the world. In the construction earlier this year, 960 trucks of concrete were used in the foundation of the colossal coaster! To give you an idea of the size, the building that will house the ride is so immense, that the volume of four Spaceship Earth attractions could fit inside!
‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ attraction is slated to open in Future World at Epcot for the 50th anniversary of Walt Disney World Resort in 2021.
