Chip and Co. has been reporting about Magic Kingdom’s reduction in the use of plastic lids and straws. This is in keeping with Disney’s dedication to improving the environment. However, at Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, there’s a lot of plastic in use.
If you’ve ever been to Mickey’s merry celebration, you know that part of the festivities is enjoying hot cocoa and cookies provided by the park. That’s a lot of cookies being distributed during each night of Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, and each cookie is individually wrapped in a plastic wrapper. We get it–wrapping the cookies in plastic keeps things sanitary and also keeps the cookies from getting stale.
They are also serving hot cocoa in paper cups with plastic lids and other beverages in plastic stemware during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party.
The use of plastic wrap, cups and stemware doesn’t mean in any way that Magic Kingdom will re-introduce plastic lids and straws in the park anytime soon, aside from items used during Mickey’s party.
Are you planning to enjoy cookies and hot cocoa with Mickey this year during his Very Merry Christmas Party? Have you joined Mickey at Christmastime before? If so, what’s your favorite part of this very special Christmas celebration? We’d love to hear from you in the comments section below!
