Jingle Bells, Jingle Bam, Jingle all the Way! It’s the most wonderful time of the year! The holidays have arrived at the Walt Disney World Resort. Last night, Disney’s Hollywood Studios kicked off the season with the return of the Jingle Bell Jingle Bam! Fireworks show, and with that also came the return of the event’s dessert party. We were invited to addend this season’s inaugural party. Let’s check out all the details!
You can check in around 6:15 pm at the podium that is set up in front of the Chinese theater (the home of the now gone Great Movie Ride). The party is scheduled to start at 7 pm, but they will let you in a few minutes earlier.
At the check in is where you will pick up your party credentials lanyard. This is yours to keep and I think it makes a great souvenir! There is also a portion on the bottom that you will pull off to collect your gift at the end of the party.
Once you collect your lanyard, you are able to get in line to go into the party. The party is held in the courtyard in front of the theater. When you arrive, you are given your table assignment and directions to your table.
I am so happy that the party is now assigning tables. Everyone is able to have a seat. In the past, not every table had chairs and there were many guests left standing. This is a huge improvement.
Your table assignment also includes a time to get your photo with the Big Guy himself – that’s right, Santa Goofy is back! This is one of my favorite meets. Goofy brings his own special brand of holiday cheer!
Now let’s talk about what is on everyone’s mind – the party eats!!!
There are multiple stations for all the yummy offerings. There are two sweet stations (with identical offerings), two savory stations (with identical offerings), a bar for those adult beverages, a frozen treats station, and an additional beverage station. Let’s check them out.
Here is the sweet station.
Of course, there are cupcakes!
We enjoyed a holiday Yule log treat.
Holiday cookies.
Chocolate fondue and lots of dipping choices.
Let’s just look at this for a moment – it’s so beautiful!
I loved this dark chocolate peppermint cake.
Pumpkin bread pudding – this was amazing!
And of course you need some vanilla bean ice cream to top off all the treats!
Now on to the savory station! I am going to say that I am really happy to see more savory options coming into these parties. It is a nice balance. The only thing I would have liked to see added is maybe some hard cheeses and fruit offerings.
They had a sweet and salty trail mix.
I was thrilled that there was both pretzel breed and naan bread.
What do you use all that bread for? Cheese fondue, of course! I could eat that all night long! That is just the most beautiful sight (next to that chocolate fondue of course)!
There are housemade chips and onion dip.
And to finish it off, a warm spinach and artichoke dip.
There were some festive adult beverage offerings as well. These are included in the party pricing.
My favorites were the hot chocolate martini and the holiday punch.
There are offerings of additional beverages such as coffee, tea, water, and soft drinks
And of course, there is some Elf Juice!
Now that you have had all of this deliciousness, don’t forget to get your ornament and head to the viewing area.
You also get these wonderful glasses that give some special holiday effects when you look at all the lights.
The viewing area continues to be my only issue with this event. You are in the small stage area in front of the theater. The cast members advise everyone to sit so that you are not blocking those who don’t have party viewing. While most people do sit, there is always the occasional person (usually someone right in the front) who will stand and block the view (you can see this in the photos). However, the other issue is that this area is so close that you really can’t see the fireworks but you have a great view of the projections. I would suggest that this viewing area is moved to where the Star Wars viewing area is. Other than that, it’s an amazing and super fun event.
